Reha Stim

Reha Stim is a German innovator in Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) and robotic gait therapy. Their mission is to restore movement to people with paralysis resulting from stroke or spinal cord injury. Their RehaMove system integrates electrical stimulation with a stationary cycle; the system "shocks" the paralysed muscles in a perfectly timed sequence, allowing the patient to pedal the bike using their own muscle power. This not only improves circulation and muscle mass but also provides a powerful neuroplastic stimulus to the brain. Reha Stim also produces the Smartexo, a robotic exoskeleton for upper and lower limb rehab. By combining robotics with electrical muscle activation, Reha Stim provides a "hybrid" approach to rehabilitation that maximises the chances of functional recovery for patients with severe neurological deficits.
